Grammy-nominated Tiempo Libre delivers a white-hot Latin sound blending traditional Afro-Cuban beats with hip-hop, house, and jazz in an irresistible, dance-inducing style called timba. Jamming during their free time (tiempo libre), these extraordinary musicians set out to create the first authentic all-Cuban timba band in the U.S. and to share the musical heritage of their native country. They reinterpreted and reinvigorated traditional Cuban music with a youthful, modern sound, forging a new style born from their Cuban roots and their American experiences. Please note: There will be dancing at this event; it’s inevitable.
