Anonymous 4 with Darol Anger and Scott Nygaard
"Haunting and inspirational, these songs about going to heaven frequently will take you there." —Lawson Taitte, Dallas Morning News Renowned for their unearthly vocal blend, the women of Anonymous 4 combine musical, literary, and historical scholarship with contemporary performance to create inspired programs that interweave music, poetry, and narrative. Since 1986, these profoundly talented women have expanded their medieval and early-music repertoire to include innovative contemporary music and, most recently, traditional music of the British Isles and America. Marsha Genensky, Susan Hellauer, Jacqueline Horner, and Johanna Maria Rose welcome instrumentalists Darol Anger and Scott Nygaard for this tour. Anger, a Grammy-nominated violinist, has played with the world's top string musicians, including Dave Grisman, Stephane Grappelli, and Bela Fleck. Scott Nygaard, considered "the absolute cutting-edge guitar player" in today's acoustic music scene, has appeared with Tim O'Brien, Chris Thile, and Tony Furtado. Together, these six performers will present music from Anonymous 4's albums Gloryland and American Angels.
